OTR Mobile Review

Perhaps you are here because you’re planning to go RVing or camping. Nevertheless, you surely don’t want to compromise on your internet connection when you hit the road. Here we will provide a review of OTR Mobile for your RV, van or camping needs when it comes to wifi and internet.

In today’s fast-paced world, staying connected has become an absolute necessity. Maybe you want to keep in touch with your loved ones or catch up with your followers on Instagram or Snapchat to share your travel adventures.

Whatever the case, while you plan your memorable trip, you want to have a fast internet connection.

Recently, there has been a lot of buzz about OTR Mobile among travel enthusiasts. The company claims to provide an unlimited wireless internet connection to travel freaks or customers in rural areas across the United States.

OTR Mobile has addressed the connectivity issues of travelers with a reasonable monthly cost and fast internet speed. But are the claims valid? Is the internet speed fast enough? Does it cover remote areas across the US?

We’re here to address all the questions that got you bugging. So, let’s get started with our OTR Mobile review.

OTR Mobile – What It Is?

OTR Mobile offers a portable device just the size of your mobile phone. Multiple devices can access the internet using this particular gadget.

If you’re planning a trip with your family or buddies, you do not need to worry. All your travel partners can connect their gadgets to this one device.

On the other hand, if you want an internet connection at your home, you can purchase a router from the company. If you already own a router, you’ll need to install an OTR SIM card to start utilizing their service.

If you’re planning to purchase an OTR Mobile service, you’ll have a couple of options to choose from.

Let’s see what OTR Mobile has got in store.

OTR Mobile Review

This guide will discuss the plans, speed, and data coverage offered by OTR Mobile.

Plans

Currently, the company offers three mobile plans.

Blue Evolution Plan

The blue evolution plan features four products: the Teltonika RUTX11, V4 Router Modem, ZTE Velocity 2 MF985, and a sim card for $514, $345, $235, and $165 respectively.

If you seek wireless options, Velocity 2 300GB is the way to go.

You can connect up to 10 devices without compromising on internet speed. The price includes the initial device charges, monthly fee, plus activation fee.

The company offers a 15 day trial period. For instance, if you’re not satisfied after receiving the product, you can cancel the service and claim a refund.

Pink Evolution Plan

The pink evolution plan also includes the ZTE Velocity 2 MF985 device at a reasonable cost of $235.

The price includes the device fee, monthly charges, and activation fee, just like the blue evolution plan. You can connect around ten gadgets without worrying about the internet speed.

The device comes with a 300 mAh removable battery that can last up to 12 hours.

If you’re looking for high-speed data, the company also offers a subscription plan for $119.

Red Evolution Plan

If you plan to take a road trip, the red evolution plan is not for you.

The plan comes with a V4 Router/Modem combo 100GB for $335. It supports internal and external LTE antennas and connects up to 32 devices via Wi-fi.

The product has a device fee, monthly charges, and activation fee, just like the other two plans.

Word of Caution: Be careful not to overcharge the wireless OTR mobile device if you intend to purchase one, as this can result in a damaged or swollen battery.

Data Coverage

While the signals can fluctuate in remote areas, the OTR mobile services currently cover all 50 states of the US.

The company doesn’t provide service outside of the United States.

OTR Mobile Speed

Several factors affect the speed of internet services. These include

Number of Users

Connecting more than the recommended devices may cause a signal lag.

Tower Accessibility

If you’re in a location with a detectable tower, your internet connection will be pretty good. It may, however, be challenging to connect with cell sites while being in outlying areas.

Network Coverage

If you’re planning a trip outside the US, the OTR Mobile service is not for you as it offers network coverage only within the 50 US states.

Even the best internet connection services are bound to be influenced by such factors. As such, OTR Mobile services are no exception. The company does not guarantee the same speed in all locations.

While the company does offer 100MBps, if you’re in a remote location, you might get an average of 50 MBps of internet speed, which isn’t bad after all.

Which Network Does OTR Mobile Use?

OTR mobile formerly offered a 4G wireless LTE connection with AT&T telecommunication company. However, in 2020, it shifted to the unlimited plan with T-mobile.

But what about customers who opted for OTR Mobile before 2020? Well, the company allows them to continue using the purchased offer. The old plan, however, has one minor drawback: the price is slightly higher.

Former customers can switch to the new plan, though. All they need to do is get in touch with a representative from the OTR Mobile company.

After unlocking their device, they can install a T-Mobile SIM card on the same gadget and continue to avail the services.

Pro Tip: If you’re an old customer, it’s recommended to switch to T-Mobile-based plans. They include a 5G network plus the frequency band 71. This band allows more excellent internet coverage in distant areas.

The Promise of Unlimited Data – Is It Real?

The company does provide unlimited data usage, but there are certain limitations.

The users must adhere to the terms and conditions of OTR Mobile and T-Mobile fair Usage policy.

OTR Mobile services monitor the internet use of its customers. In case you download or watch any illegal content, commit fraud or use the data excessively, the company will terminate your service without any warning.

As such, you might not be able to enjoy unlimited data. Therefore, complying with company policies comes first.

Closing Notes

If you are a frequent traveler, you might experience internet issues. Hence, finding a suitable network is your top priority.

OTR Mobile device comes in handy; you can carry it with you on a roadside or business trip. It offers reasonably good internet services.

Although occasional internet slowdowns are typical with any internet service, OTR Mobile lets you stream uninterrupted and unlimited content for the most part.

Hopefully, our OTR Mobile review will help you determine the features of the service.
